Abbey & Ryan

On Saturday, September 3rd, 2016, I had the enormous pleasure of documenting Abbey & Ryan’s wedding day. When we arrived, my assistant and I were floored by how gorgeous the Century Barn in Mt. Horeb was. Not to mention the perfect September weather! We walked up the gravel driveway towards the barn to see the amazingly decorated venue. Abbey arrived and was greeted by her father at the back entrance to the barn and was just glowing with pure happiness and joy. Shortly after, the ceremony began. Ryan escorted his parents down the aisle, followed by the wedding party, and their seriously adorable flower girl. Then, everyone stood as they watched Abbey and her father walk down the aisle. Their ceremony was short and sweet, and filled ginormous smiles and laughter from the bride and groom. Ryan kissed his bride and the couple walked happily away as Mr. & Mrs. Read.
After the ceremony, we ventured out around the venue for some photos of the wedding party. Of course, during the girls photos, the guys had to take a break to watch the Badger game on their phones! After group photos, we took Abbey and Ryan to a few different locations for some photos of the newlyweds. It was so great to capture the love these two share. Also, watching Abbey twirl in that gorgeous dress with the horses grazing behind her was straight out of a fairytale.
The bride and groom hitched a ride on one of the golf carts run by the amazing staff at the Century barn to join their guests who were partaking in some yard games and enjoying the delicious food provided by Hy-Vee.
As the sun began to set, I was reminded of my first meeting with Abbey. She had explained how excited she was to be married at the Century Barn because of how beautiful and open it was. She dreamt of a breathtaking sunset as a backdrop for photos of her, her groom and her family. For a moment, we all just had to stare in amazement at the incredible view and how the backdrop she had envisioned was now reality. As I took these photos, I was overwhelmed by the love between these two. I mean seriously… the way they look at each other! It’s that head over heals, crazy for each other, real deal type of love that everyone searches for. And these two definitely had it.
Ryan and Abbey marched happily into the barn and shared their first dance, surrounded by their entire wedding party. They were followed by a couple of amazing speeches by Abbey’s sister and Ryan’s best friend. The party was then started by none other than House of Pain’s “Jump Around” to celebrate the bride and groom, and of course, a Badger win!
As the night came to a close, I was reminded that true love is an amazing thing. And it is even more amazing when it is shared and celebrated with friends and family.
Congratulations Ryan & Abbey.
Thank you for letting me capture your happily ever after.
